What difference "Two" can make!

One of those contests that is fought till the fag end... one of those days where things doesn't seem to be happening for you... Yes, it was the second test match of the Border-Gavaskar trophy, Day 5. First of all, I must thank Indian batsmen and bowlers for coming up with a performance that marked character... barring couple of people (that's a different story altogether).

Coming to the title, who are the "Two"? Read on...

Here is the balance between two teams
Phil Jacques = Wasim Jaffer
Mathew Hayden = Rahul Dravid
Ricky Ponting = V.V.S Laxman
Michael Hussey < Sachin Tendulkar
Michael Clarke < Ganguly (in current form)
Andrew Symonds > Yuvraj Singh (in current form)
Gilchrist > Dhoni
Hogg = Kumble
Mitchell Johnson = Harbhajan Singh
Brett Lee > Ishant Sharma
Stuart Clark = R.P.Singh

Pretty much balanced. Isn't it? But then, when "supposed-to-be" neutrals join hands with one team, there is no talk of balance any more. The Australian score card in first innings should read

Jaques c Dhoni b Singh 0
Hayden c Tendulkar b Singh 13
Ponting c Dhoni b Ganguly 14
Ponting lbw Harbhajan Singh 37
Hussey c Tendulkar b Singh 41
Clarke lbw Harbhajan Singh 1
Symonds c Dhoni b Ishant Sharma 30
Symonds st Dhoni b Harbhajan Singh 18
Symonds st Dhoni b Harbhajan Singh 65
Symonds not out 55
Gilchrist c Tendulkar b Singh 7
Hogg c Dravid b Kumble 79
Lee lbw b Kumble 59
Johnson c Ganguly b Kumble 28
Clark bw b Kumble 0

Because of two people under the white dress were shockingly bad, India had to take 14 wickets to end an Australian inning. Despite dismissing Symonds thrice, he remained not out in the inning. And Ian Chappel says, Indians let Australians off the hook. Crazy!

This is the story of just one inning... rest of the match was no different. Indians had to absorb all of the "HUMAN" errors committed by Umpires. Surprisingly all, except one, decisions were against India. When two established umpires continue to commit such mistakes one after the other at crucial junctures, eyebrows bound to raise.

If a team had to get the aid of umpires to pocket a game, that in itself is a victory to opposition. So for me and millions of other Indian fans... the result of the match is

"India has won the match"

It was like Indian 11 played against Australia 14 (including the 2 umpires and leg umpire)..... But Kumble looked to be very confident during his interview (post match)....

If I hate something in world it is the aussie cricket team and if i hate someone, it is Ponting!!
