Merciless

I heard a lot about the recent law college issue.  For the uninitiated read on @ http://www.hindu.com/2008/11/14/stories/2008111454210400.htm

College, though not devoid of clashes between groups, I thought was fun! At least to me it was. During a period which is supposed to be a platform for people to move with others regardless of the class, caste or creed, here are our future responsible LAW people indulging in inhuman practice. Worst is that they were beating each other in the complete view of police. I do not know why the police did not act to stop the incident. It was CRAZY like Hell. Having just seen the video, I am robbed of words. I cannot write any more abt this.

Though, I heard about this incident some time in last week, the impact dawned upon me only on seeing the video of the clash. Not for the weak hearts....Video is here... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozp2DYs4yBA

If such is the behavior of the future lawyers then GOD BLESS INDIA! Every student must put their head down in shame. Shame on you people...SHAME ON YOU!

Vaaranam Aayiram

Yaanaikkum adi sarukkum! (Elephant can also slip)

This supposedly tribute to Goutham Menon's late Dad is by far his worst movie so far. Surya's effort has been completely wasted. For Surya its like scoring 200 and still ending up on losing side. My sympathies! Tests your patience to core!

Songs are beautifully picturized, though.

Partiality...

Mr.Karunanidhi - for all the respect you commanded by means of your work in tamil literature, art and for the state of Tamil Nadu, you would have done well not to have gone public with your sentiments on Hindus wearing sacred ash on their fore head.

I seriously do not understand the concern. Time and again, he picks a needle to prickle with the sentiments of hindus. If they prefer to wear sacred ash, so be it. There are helluva other concerns to be addressed in this state. And he doesn't dare to touch the sentiments on other religions. I presume an atheist doesn't believe in existence of God as claimed by any religion. So if he claims to be one, he got to denounce all. Why bashing only one section?

This action of his, the seasoned politician that he is, is to merely distract the people from other compelling issues. He played the "God sent" trump card of Srilankan Tamil issue for some time to keep people occupied. Now that one is shunning down, he had to resort to playing his old trick of Hindu bashing. What really bothers him about wearing a sacred ash or wearing a sacred thread is some thing that is beyond my capacity to comprehend.

So Mr.Kalaignar avargale, If you want to follow some thing, follow it. We do not give a damn about it and we do not expect others to dictate what we should do about our religious sentiments. So please buckle up and get back to your work. One entire state is waiting for you to do something for them. You would be better placed to answer that call.

Peace!
